Brownsville Cascade Project
The Brownsville Presbyterian church is over 175 years old and stands as a monument in Cascade, Hanover. It has been damaged by storms over the past several years. Because of the decline of the population and the socio-economic standards in the district, repairs have been placed on hold for many years. The congregation worships in the schoolhouse. Under the leadership of the Reverend Herbert Redway JR, restoration has begun. However, funds are minimal and help has been requested by the members. A roof is now in place and the interior has undergone significant improvement. All the windows and doors need to be replaced benches are needed to be installed in the pews, permanent lighting, tiles for the floor and painting. This church has provided guidance for many dating back to childhood and therefore it is my mission to establish a fund and solicit help to provide assistance in the restoration process.
Goals
- To establish a fund to assist the Brownsville United Church in the rebuilding.
- To continue to provide assistance in the maintenance after completion and if there are any funds available the Brownsville Primary School will benefit in the form of scholarship to further the education of well needy students.
